LAUNCH DATES DURING JUNE

By CBR Staff Writer

Diaries out: Honeywell Bull Inc and Bull SA have set next Tuesday, June 9 for launch of the Honeywell-developed DPS 8000 GCOS 8 successor line to the DPS 8 mainframes, with a processor offering three times the performance of the DPS 8/49 – and perhaps enhancements to the DPS 6 Plus mini in the US; IBM has provisionally set the following Tuesday, June 16, for its communications enhancements, most notably the desperately belated move to bring SNA support under VM up to the level of MVS support and other developments previewed in CI No 682; and Olivetti has picked the following Monday or Tuesday, June 22 or 23, for launch of its answers to the new IBM Personal System/2 family.
