Laszlo Systems, a developer of internet application software, has entered into a global OEM agreement with Alcatel-Lucent.
Under the terms of this agreement, Alcatel-Lucent will market its Rich Communication Manager, of which Laszlo’s Webtop platform is an element, to service providers, enabling them to deliver unified messaging across fixed, mobile and IP devices to subscribers. Webtop is an advanced platform that unifies access to an expanding suite of rich internet applications.
According to Laszlo, Webtop Connectors allow easy integration with existing back-end systems. Webtop Smart Objects allow easy integration between different applications enabling drag and drop, inline display/playback, and standards-based import/export.
With Webtop, users can access their data anywhere, any time, from any device. By leveraging Laszlo’s OpenLaszlo technology, channel partners like Alcatel-Lucent can bring to market new products to meet the needs of their customers.
George Shahid, president and CEO of Laszlo Systems, said: This marks a significant milestone in our progress with Webtop. Since its release in late 2007 we have enjoyed strong sales results with over seven million user licenses sold.
We are pleased that Alcatel-Lucent, one of the premier suppliers to network operators globally, has selected our product and technology for such a strategic part of its portfolio. In addition, we expect that this will help us to more rapidly expand the adoption of the product on a global scale.
