T4 Systems says that Lanier Worldwide Inc has signed a three-year contract for the purchase and distribution of its facsimile software: T4 Systems’ facsimile server software will be converted to run on a Lanier system and will be sold under the name Lanier Link through Lanier’s direct and dealer distribution channels; it enables users to transmit documents and application screens directly from a mainframe or minicomputer to any Group III facsimile machine; the company says that Lanier Link is essentially a passive device emulating a printer, and it is integrated into other environments via co-ax, twin-ax or RS232-C cabling connection; the Link can be configured as a single or as a multi-line system and supports up to four telephone lines; pricing starts at $7,000.
