Lackawanna County is replacing its existing software with Logos.NET financial management, procurement management, human resources and payroll management and benefits administration programs to automate processes, improve productivity and maximize resources using the familiar Microsoft desktop environment.

The Logos.NET technology, developed using Microsoft .Net, industry standard Windows 2000 Server and SQL Server 2000 database, will be utilized to eliminate manual tasks such as payroll for 1,600 employees, procurement processes, budgeting and accounts payable, in the hope of increasing productivity. It will also offer built-in event-alert notifications which automatically display tasks requiring attention.

In addition, New World offers customizable screens and full suite integration to give government officials easy access to information.

The implementation is expected to begin immediately.
