Reports from Belgian publication De Standaard suggest that staff at Kraft’s factory in Halle, Belgium intend to demonstrate their opposition to the proposals by taking strike action.

A total of around 670 Kraft employees are expected to transfer to EDS under the terms of the seven-year global outsourcing deal, which covers Kraft’s global IT operations, including services for data centers, hosting, telecoms, servers, and desktop management

Kraft is not the first company to face internal opposition over outsourcing plans. The Italian division of engineering giant ABB, for example, continued to manage its infrastructure services in-house despite its parent company signing a major outsourcing agreement with IBM Global Services.
