KPMG LINKS WITH MICROSOFT, CISCO FOR CONSULTING AND SI

By CBR Staff Writer

KPMG Peat Marwick LLP is to create a 500-person consulting practice with the aim of bringing customers business solutions on Microsoft Corp’s NT platform. The practice will be built in collaboration with Microsoft, bringing server-to-desktop business systems in the customer value management and electronic commerce sectors. In addition, KPMG will be standardizing its internal messaging and knowledge management system to the Microsoft Exchange Server, which will affect some 20,000 employees in the US. KPMG has also announced it is pushing forward in the area of systems integration, with Microsoft and Cisco Systems Inc, by expanding its Enterprise Integration Service to support the new consulting venture. The SI group involves 100 KPMG employees currently being trained in cooperation with Cisco. It will provide network integration, migration and internet commerce services centered around Microsoft and Cisco products.
