KOREAN TOP FOUR ACCOUNT FOR HALF THE NATIONAL R&D

Korea’s top four electronics companies, Samsung, Logistics Group (LG), Hyundai and Daewoo, are jointly responsible for over half the countries R & D expenditure, according to a recent survey by the Korea Industrial Technology Association. Their combined expenditure is worth 6.17 trillion won ($4.57bn) which is 59.8% of the country’s total. Samsung has the largest R & D work force, employing 14,402, followed by LG with 9,436, Hyundai with 8,289, and Daewoo with 6,246 employees.
