KOREA TO TRIAL PERSONAL PHONE NUMBER SYSTEM

By CBR Staff Writer

Korea Telecom plans to begin a trial of personal phone number system this month. A subscriber to the service is given a personal number which, like an identification number, does not change with the user’s residence. The service also allows a subscriber to receive phone calls when he or she is not at home or office by putting the personal number into the available phone set, pager or cellular handset. For those that want to participate in the trial KT is charging 1,000 won per month.
