KOKUSAI DENSHIN DENWA TO STRAT WORK ON THE TRANS-PACIFIC CABLE

Kokusai Denshin Denwa plans to start work on the third trans Pacific cable, TPC-3, for November 7, starting with a 12.5 mile optical link between a location in Chiba and a point off the coast; it will then extend to Hawaii, and then will connect to TPC-4, construction of which will begin next year; the internat ional carrier will be responsible for 2,406 miles of the massive engineering undertaking.
