KOKUSAI DENSHIN DENWA TO EXPAND; LIGHTS ON LONDON

By CBR Staff Writer

Spurred by the challenge to its monopoly at home, Japan’s state owned international telecommunications carrier Kokusai Denshin Denwa Co is looking around the world for places to expand, and has lighted on London: it has formed a joint venture company, Telehouse International Ltd, in London’s Dockland, in which it will hold 33%, with Nomura Research Institute taking 23%, British Telecom 12% and 15 others taking small stakes; the new company will offer facilities management services for international telecommunications and data processing networks and installations.
