KOKUSAI DENSHIN DENWA AND FRANCE TELECOM TO ESTABLISH FACSIMILE SERVICE BETWEEN FRANCE AND JAPAN

By CBR Staff Writer

Kokusai Denshin Denwa Co and France Telecom are looking into the feasibility of establishing a dedicated line facsimile service between France and Japan in the hope that using higher quality lines will reduce the errors that arise on the switched network; a striking 70% of telecommunications traffic between the two countries is said to be facsimile, which suggests that a large part of it is Japanese firms sending script messages to their expatriate employees in France.
