Manufacturer and retailer of consumer electronics Kogan has introduced a new laptop powered by Google’s Chromium OS.

Chromium OS is an open source project, which makes it a constant work-in-progress, allowing open source community to introduce new features and enhance system on continuous basis.

In addition, the laptop is based on the Agora hardware and adds a Solid State Drive, which allows users to operate entirely in the cloud, and boots in 4.5 seconds, the company said.

Kogan added that the system powered by Chromium OS allows users to access their files and photos from anywhere in the world, and that the data will appear exactly as they expect, tailored to their needs.

Google is also working to ensure that Chrome integrates seamlessly with all Android-based devices.

The new Agora Laptop is available in the UK and Australia, and will be shipped directly to customers next week.
