Rochester, New York-based Eastman Kodak Co finally looks to be shot of two of its problem children. It has agreement to sell its Atex Inc electronic pre-press systems subsidiary to an investment consortium headed by Danny Chapchal, a long-time executive in the printing and publishing industries. The purchase price for the Billerica, Massachusetts supplier of systems to newspapers and magazines worldwide was not disclosed. And ADE Corp is to buy Kodak’s Estek Products Division in Charlotte, North Carolina, also on undisclosed terms. Estek manufactures and markets equipment used in the semiconductor industry to detect and analyse contamination on silicon wafers.
