The small but highly respected Unix operating software pioneer Interactive Systems Corp – which provided IBM and Fujitsu with their first Unix implementations, has given up the unequal struggle to remain independent in an increasingly competitive environment, and has agreed in principle to sell out to Eastman Kodak Co on undisclosed terms. The Santa Monica, California company will continue under present management as a subsidiary reporting to Kodak’s new software systems division, part of the company’s commercial and information systems group.
