Kobo Arc is powered by Android 4.0 platform tweaked with Tapestries

By CBR Staff Writer

Toronto-based eReading firm Kobo has introduced new series of its eReading devices including, Kobo Glo, Kobo Mini, Kobo Touch and the Kobo Arc.

Kobo CEO Michael Serbinis said: "The new Kobo Family provides more choice for booklovers and a superior eReading and content discovery experience – truly, an eReader for Everyone."

The new device Kobo Glo comes with an adjustable ComfortLight technology to enable consumers to read books on a no-glare XGA high-resolution 6" E Ink screen.

It also includes page-turning features, E Ink technology, customisable fonts and Wi Fi connectivity that will allow consumers to explore and discover recommendations in the Kobo eBookstore.

Kobo Mini is a 5" E Ink eReader which can hold up to 1,000 eBooks and is suitable for people on-the-go and young adults, the company said.

The new Kobo Arc is a 7" high-definition device that is powered by Android 4.0 platform and comes with a Kobo-developed interface called Tapestries.

Tapestries will use an intelligent cross-media recommendations engine in order to respond to the user’s "pinned" content to recommend related videos, movies, books, webpages and other related content.
