San Jose, California-based KLA Instruments Corp has engaged Kidder, Peabody & Co Inc to advise and assist in the divestiture of its printed circuit board inspection division, which manufactures automated optical inspection systems: KLA wants to sell the unit to invest more cash and effort in its core semiconductor inspection arm.
