Memory product firm Kingston Digital has launched its latest memory cards which it said are the fastest available in the world now.

Aimed at professional video makers and photographers, the Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) UHS-I (Ultra High Speed) UltimateXX memory cards is expected to simplify capturing video and optimise the card’s capacity when used along with a UHS-I device.

The US company with an office in Ireland said the cards meet all the SD Association criteria and increase write speeds by up to three times as compared to other SDHC X cards.

Kingston Digital said the cards offer 35MB/sec write speed and 60MB/sec read speed and feature an in-built write protect switch to prevent data loss.

Although the cards are not compliant with standard SD devices, they will still work with SDHC and SDXC (Secure Digital Extended Capacity) host units, the company added.

The product is available in 8GB (£81), 16GB (£163) and 32GB (£327) versions.
