Accenture has signed a multi-year application management services contract with KF, the Swedish Cooperative Union. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Under the agreement, Accenture will manage the existing portfolio of SAP and Microsoft applications, legacy mainframe applications and websites of Coop, KF’s grocery retail business unit.
The contract covers the applications used by all of Coop’s business and operational areas, including supply chain, customer loyalty, online services, marketing, merchandising, human resources and finance.
KF chief financial officer Johnny Capor said Accenture’s retail experience, combined with extensive knowledge of application services and its off-shore delivery capability, make it the natural choice to enhance their application management.
Accenture retail practice senior executive Jonas Billing said Coop operates in an extremely competitive sector, and they recognise the importance of having in place agile and responsive IT services.
"The work that Accenture will deliver for Coop will enable it to focus on its core business activities and achieve high performance, while benefiting from enhanced application management services at a reduced cost," Billing said.
