KEYBOARD PRICE WAR FORCES KEY TRONIC TO LAY OFF 80, SET ONE-YEAR PAY FREEZE

Personal computer keyboard prices have fallen 15% to 20% in the past year, and Key Tronic Corp, Spokane, Washington, sees no sign in a let-up in the fierce price competition, particularly from the Far East. It is therefore reducing its US workforce by 80 people, about 5%, and instituting a wage freeze that will run through to February 1988.
