UK-based Kewill, which is engaged in the provision of computer software and associated services, has signed a contract with AP Moller-Maersk Group, a Denmark-based company engaged in marine transportation and shipbuilding, to implement Kewill’s global freight forwarding system, Kewill Forwarding, for Damco, the forwarding arm of AP Moller-Maersk.
According to Kewill, the implementation will commence as an initial release in two European countries.
Upon successful completion of the initial release, the Kewill Forwarding system will be implemented over the next three years to approximately 3,000 users across the Damco network covering more than 97 countries and 200 branch offices worldwide, added Kewill.
Paul Nichols, chief executive officer of Kewill, said: This announcement highlights Kewill’s continued leadership in this market sector. Our solutions and domain expertise will provide Damco with the capabilities to improve its current procedures and the introduction of Kewill Forwarding will enhance the services that Damco can offer its existing clients. This is a heavyweight addition to our growing list of global Kewill forwarding customers and supports our expectations for the year ended March 31, 2009.
