Walton-on-Thames, Surrey-based Kewill Group Plc has announced a major restructuring of the company, creating three divisions Unix, PC Network and Computer Aided Design. Chairman Kevin Overstall says that until this move, Kewill had eight companies working in isolation of each other. The change in direction sees the Unix accountancy software product, XIS, move away from Kewill Omicron to become a company of its own, called Kewill-XIS, enabling Omicron – which has a user base of 7,000 to focus on the personal computer network market with its PowerSystems range of accountancy software modules. As a result of the reorganisation, Omicron’s chief executive, Mark Horne will be leaving the company, to be replaced by Neville Merritt.
