This acquisition further strengthens Kewill’s position in the US as one of the largest providers of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions to the Tier III or Small and Medium-Size Enterprise (SME) market. Alliance, with corporate headquarters in Goleta, California., provides ERP solutions to emerging manufacturers that generally total about $1 million to $15 million in sales. Its Microsoft Windows-based products include: StartMRP and Alliance/MFG.

Alliance will operate as part of Kewill’s ERP division and will fill a product gap for the group in the area of Tier III discrete manufacturing. Kewill ERP provides a successful line of software and services for the SME market, including MAX, for the larger Tier III discrete, repetitive and mixed-mode industries and JobBOSS, for job-shops and make-to-order manufacturers.

Kewill has acquired assets of Alliance for a total cash consideration of $0.8 million and assumed the liabilities of ongoing customer support contracts ($0.9 million).

This represents Kewill’s second acquisition in the past 12 months. In June 2000, Kewill acquired EVCOR, a leading systems integrator in North America, for $45.5 million.
