Shares in Kendall Square Research Corp plunged $3.75, 33%, to $7.50 after the company announced that it would be restating its figures sharply downwards, and Price Waterhouse & Co slammed the door after the horse had bolted by withdrawing its view of the figures, thereby bringing the deeply compromised accountancy profession into even further disrepute; before the company forecast its third-quarter loss in October, its shares were at $24.25.
