Kokusai Denshin Denwa Co’s KDD Technology will start marketing an advanced image communications and processing system, the CP200, this autumn: the device can send both printed originals and still television images, and colour images undergo 12 to one compression using digital signals, so that even when the analogue dial-up network is used, colour photos can be sent in five or six minutes; the super fax will cost around $26,000; it was developed by KDD Laboratories, and KDD Technologies, a new company formed this month, will have sole distribution rights; just the thing for all these colour newspapers popping up around the world, and orders are already being taken from printing companies.
