The company estimates that up to 300 new viruses appears every day. Most anti-virus companies release daily updates, the new Rapid Virus Response service is designed to update anti-virus databases regularly every three hours in order to ward off new attacks, the company said.
Kaspersky was the first company to provide a Linux anti-virus product. It produces a suite of anti-spam, anti-virus, content and attachment-checking software for Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino/Notes systems that competes against similar product lines from the likes of SurfControl Plc and ClearSwift Ltd. Nokia currently also uses technology from Kaspersky Labs on its devices.
