KANSAI ELECTRIC POWER TO MARKET EXPERT SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT TOOL

By CBR Staff Writer

Kansai Electric Power is to begin marketing an expert system development tool called Knowledge Acquisition and Arrangement Support System, which is designed for efficient development of fault diagnosis systems: it is claimed to reduce to a quarter the effort required to develop knowledge-based systems compared with earlier products, and will be pitched at Nippon Telegraph & Telephone and electrical and electronic manufacturers; the system was developed with the help of the Toyo Information Systems software and is available on the IBM 5550 and the NEC 9800 personal computer series for around $3,900.
