Interphase Corp, Dallas, Texas and Kalpana Inc have teamed to develop a Network CoProcessing System for Sun Microsystems Inc servers using Interphase’s Sbus co-processor and a switch developed by the two. The flat-network arrangement enables multiple Ethernet connections to the switch. As an organisation changes or expands, administrators can move clients to different Ethernet sections without assigning a new Internet Protocol address, the firms say. A four-port switch with two co-processors and load-balancing software is $15,000.
