Juniper Networks plans to expand the India Excellence Centre (IEC), its research and development centre in Bangalore, India.
The company said that the existing development centre staffs 1,800 employees and 300 development partners, and wants to add another 750 seats and 450 equipment racks at a new site in Bangalore over the next two years.
The expansion is designed to provide the company with the capacity to continue growing the IEC’s pool of engineering talent and better service its customers.
The new office will be located at Bangalore’s new Prestige Exora Business Park and is being developed in two phases.
Juniper Networks IEC managing director Sridhar Sarathy said the expansion reflects their ongoing commitment to increase the depth of experience and expertise in the India region, which is becoming increasingly important not just as a source of engineering talent but also as a fast-growing market for Juniper Networks.
"One member of our team is among 45 elite Juniper Networks Distinguished Engineers, which is indicative of the fact that the IEC is capable of conceptualising new system architectures and leading global product development initiatives," Sarathy said.
