Global semiconductor sales reached $11.61bn in July, representing a 13.3% growth rate over July 1996 and a 1.8% rise from June of this year, according to the Semiconductor Industry Association. July marks the third month in a row that 1997 sales have exceeded those of last year. The Americas market saw 19.4% growth, while Asia-Pacific sales grew 16.1% and Europe figures rose 12.4%.
