Judge Greene has thrown a spanner into the works of those Baby Bells hoping to get rich in the on-line information services business by rejecting Bell Atlantic Corp’s petition for a waiver allowing it to have a single computer in the centre of its region to provide Gateway access: instead, it must put in a Gateway in each local telephone zone. Trying to get into long-distance by the back door, growled the Judge as he slammed that door.
