JSB Software Technologies Plc, the Congleton, Cheshire, UK-based internet software company, is to integrate Autonomy Plc’s adaptive probabilistic concept modeling (APCM) technology into its SurfCcontrol internet access control software. The move is designed to enhance the ability of SurfControl to analyze the content of each web page and determine whether access to it should be allowed according to corporate policy guidelines. JSB has always claimed its positive filtering approach to internet access is superior to that based on lists of banned pages, which are rapidly outdated by the huge volume of new sites. Autonomy’s pattern recognition technology has brought it a growing number of partnerships with companies seeking to automatically analyze unstructured data in intranets or on the internet.
