Joint venture Dialogue, a large collection of loosely connected computer firms in the former Soviet Union, has announced the results of a contest held to determined the best selling and the most profitable software products written at its affiliates in 1992. The winners were Aidstest (Dmitry Lozinsky, Dialogue Nauka, Moscow) which sold 12,000 copies, Adinf (Dmitry Mostovoj, Dialogue nauka, Moscow) which sold 2,000 copies and TPK typing training program (Dialogue MGU) which sold 500. SAPR Sprut (Fort Dialogue), SAPR Kredo (Dialogue Minsk) and Unikum (Dialogue Unikum) were found the most profitable software products. A research and engineering co-operative formed in 1988 by the USSR State Committee on Computer Equipment (Komitet po Vychislitelnoj Tekhnike) is now producing a bulletin on the personal computers market. The co-operative hopes to use the bulletin to provide assistance to Russian users or companies to make contact with the major western manufacturers.
