John Egan, EMC Corp executive vice president and son of EMC co- founder and current company chairman Richard Egan, has left the company. He will be replaced by EMC veteran Paul Noble. Egan, who had been widely tipped as the most likely heir apparent to EMC’s CEO Michael Ruetgers, has been credited as the prime mover behind EMC Corp’s legendary aggressive sales force during his 15 year stint with the company. He will stay a member of the board. Egan runs a venture capital firm, Egan Managed Capital. Meantime EMC has snared former general manager of IBM Corp’s North American personal systems group, Cosmo Santullo; and former BBN and Lotus exec Bruce Rampe is on board as VP software, a market key to EMC’s future growth.
