With nearly every major player in the finance industry either evaluating, adopting or deploying Java technology a collection of software types in the UK have banded together to form the JOFF (Java and Object Technologies for the Finance Community) Consortium to establish a forum for customers, vendors and integrators to model, test and integrate Java and object technologies for financial applications. The grouping includes SunSoft, Netscape, Digitivity, Eon Technologies, Financial Object Resources, MDIS, Object Design, Softwire and Visual Numerics and aims to bring a quick start kit to the deployment of Java technologies. It’ll offer products, technical expertise, project resources, benchmarking and testing and the ability to fast track projects. The Consortium plans a client recruitment drive beginning in January. Membership costs from 1000 pounds to 5000 pounds annually. https://www.joff.co.uk
