JOBS NOT INTERESTED IN PERMANENT PLACE AT APPLE

By CBR Staff Writer

Steve Jobs, is apparently not interested in making his interim chief executive job at Apple Computer Co into a permanent position. According to a Reuters report, an executive at Pixar Animation Studios Inc – where Jobs is also chairman and CEO – said that Jobs told analysts in a conference call on Monday he had no intention of taking the Apple post on a permanent basis. Jobs also said that Apple is continuing its search for his successor, and hopes to have one in place by the end of the year. The report comes after renewed speculation that Jobs would remain at Apple helped the troubled company’s shares advance slightly amid massive declines in technology stocks. Apple would not comment on the matter.
