JNI SIGNS OEM DEAL WITH ANCOR FOR FIBRE SWITCHES

By CBR Staff Writer

Ancor Communications Inc has signed an OEM agreement with San Diego, California-based JNI Inc, formerly known as Jaycor Networks Inc. JNI, a fibre channel vendor, will test, integrate and sell Ancor’s range of MKII fibre channel switches as part of a complete system area network product for the high-end enterprise market. JNI’s products include the Sbus adapter cards, and the company recently acquired the fibre channel product line of Adaptec Systems Inc as the basis for its SAN product line (CI No 3,493). As part of the deal, Adaptec took an equity stake in JNI of an unspecified amount.
