Innovative Spanish telco Jazztel SA has launched an incentive scheme for early adopters of its offering of asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) services, including a flat internet access rate from the moment a companies signs up for the service.

The scheme is being launched by Madrid-based Jazztel’s ISP subsidiary Jazznet and is aimed specifically at the business market. It is the result of a deal closed last month with Telefonica SA in which the new carrier will resell the incumbent’s ADSL service.

The program, called Pioneros ADSL, also includes other appetizers such as a special rate for the service for a year after it comes online. Jazztel plans to install its own broadband fiber optic network joining the country’s main cities, and to this end raised some $100m from a 10-year high-yield bond issue earlier this year. The bonds are listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange. In July the company also announced plans to start operating in neighboring Portugal.
