Javelin Systems, the Irvine, California maker of open system touchscreen point-of-sale computers, has announced that it is acquiring CCI Group Inc, a St. Louis-based provider of consulting services and after-installation support for point-of-sale systems in the area of food service and bill payment. Javelin is also buying Posnet Computers Inc, based in Huntington Beach, California. Posnet provides pre-installation support and field service for POS computers in the food service industry. Javelin says the acquisitions will enable to offer turnkey hardware and maintenance services to large food service companies. Financial details of the two deals were not disclosed. Javelin recently reported first-quarter net income of $21,000 on revenue of $3.0m (CI No 3,278).
