JAPAN’S MINISTRY OF INTERNATIONAL TRADE & INDUSTRY TO ASK CHIPMAKERS FOR FURTHER CUT IN PRODUCTION

Japan’s Ministry of International Trade & Industry will ask Japanese chipmakers to make a second cut in production of about 10% in the April to June quarter in an effort to reduce the oversupply that it believes encourages companies to dump their surplus overseas: it requested a 10% output reduction midway through the January to March term.
