JAPANESE COMPUTER EXPORTS FALL, BUT TURNING POINT IS PREDICTED

Japan’s computer shipments will fall 14% to the equivalent of $30,000m in the year to next March, but some improvement is seen by mid-1994 as government economic stimulus steps take effect, according to the Japan Electronic Industry Development Association, which estimates shipments in the 1994-95 financial year at $30,100m; it says the pace of the current decline should start to slow by mid-1994.
