Japanese Bank Implements Teradata’s Active Enterprise Data Warehouse Platform

To improve its risk management, fraud detection, strategic marketing and regulatory compliance

By CBR Staff Writer

Teradata, a global company focused on data warehousing and enterprise analytics, has announced that Kumamoto Family Bank, a member of Japan-based Fukuoka Financial Group, has deployed its Teradata Active Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) platform. The move is intended to improve the bank’s risk management, fraud detection, strategic marketing and regulatory compliance.

The Teradata Active EDW manages the bank’s complex and demanding workloads making it suitable to support long range strategic planning, as well as operational intelligence. The employees of Kumamoto Family Bank rely on the operational intelligence to make consistent, fact-based decisions in their daily jobs.

The company said that Kumamoto Family Bank integrated a number of databases into the Teradata Active EDW earlier in 2009, centralizing customer and transaction data taken from its mission-critical applications.
