Japan Telecom’s fixed line business suffers while its mobile business grows

Japan Telecom has reported first-half losses. However, although its fixed line business is flailing, its mobile arm, J-Phone, is doing well.

Japan Telecom now expects its joint venture with Vodafone to continue increasing its 17% share of the Japanese market.

While the companies fixed line operations are planning extensive cost cutting measures the mobiles business is prospering looking to catch the market leader, DoCoMo.
