JAPAN SEES 45% HIKE IN 1M-BIT OUTPUT IN APRIL-JUNE PERIOD

A slight easing of the acute memory chip shortage is promised by Japan’s Ministry of International Trade & Industry, which is forecasting that output from Japanese chipmakers of of 1M-bit dynamics will rise by 45% in the April-June quarter compared with that for first quarter of 1988, and that it will increase a further 30% in the July to September period.
