Enterprise software giant JD Edwards & Co is now moving seriously into the supply chain management business for the first time with a separate product line. Scorex – which stands for supply chain optimization and real-time extended execution – combines advanced planning and scheduling with order, warehouse, transportation and cost management, combining software from partners such as Synquest Inc, Manugistics Corp, Ilog SA and Crossworlds Software Inc. The move marks an expansion of the supply chain modules already provided in J D Edwards’ OneWave ERP application suite. Scorex will integrate with supply chain management optimization engines from Norcross, Georgia-based SynQuest and Rockville, Maryland-based Manugistics Inc, although the company is said to be developing its own software for release some time next year. It will also include Crossworlds Software Inc’s Processware technology (CI No 3,366) as well as planning and scheduling functions from Ilog SA’s optimization scheduling software (CI No 3,303). Denver, Colorado-based J D Edwards says it also has partnerships with Chantilly, Virginia-based logistics company Vastera Inc, Northville, Michigan-based automotive industry software house Future Three, and Harbinger Corp.
