ITV has partnered with US-based Roku to make the broadcaster’s ITV Player catch-up service available on Roku’s internet boxes in the UK
The agreement will allow Roku users to use the ITV player channel to catch up on content across ITV, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4 and CITV from the last 30 days on their main TV.
ITV’s Director of Pay and Distribution Martin Goswami said: "A key part of our strategy is to make our content accessible on multiple platforms and we are delighted to be working with Roku to bring our programmes to their devices."
It comes a week after Sky’s mobile service Sky GO added ITV’s channel line-up to its services for the first time.
The BBC also launched a BBC sport app for Roku devices in the UK, which will provide sports news, highlights and live action ahead of this summer’s World Cup, which kicks off today.
"ITV Player is one of the most recognised sources of programming in the UK and we’re delighted to bring its premier library of popular shows to Roku customers in the UK," said Roku’s Ed Lee.
The ITV Player channel can be downloaded from the Roku Channel Store today and it will work on the Roku LT, Roku 1, Roku 2, Roku 3 and Streaming Stick boxes.
