Handheld computer software vendor Itron Inc is to distribute FS/2 palmtops from Peek Plc’s Coventry-based manufacturer Husky Computers Ltd under a new deal that could prove to be worth over UKP25m: Itron is to supply FS/2s to electric, gas and water companies and to the distribution divisions of North American utility companies; it has undertaken to buy specified quantities of the computers over the next five years, and it has also taken over Husky’s all of sales and service operations in North America; it will pay $1.5m in cash and another $2.0m in the form of an interest bearing promissory note.
