As part of the contract ITNET will provide ICT infrastructure and applications service delivery. The contract will include support for 3,500 desktops, including 1,000 thin client terminals. ITNET will also assist Southwark in meeting some of its Modernising Government responsibilities by conducting specific eBusiness related projects.

Southwark Council was the first Local Authority to implement SAP. As the largest UK supplier of SAP support services to Local Government, ITNET will work with the Council to maximise its investment in this strategic product.

Head of Information Technology at Southwark, Zbish Przekop, said: Southwark has selected ITNET as its ‘ICT partner’ based on its track record of ICT delivery and its capability to improve ICT services to enable the Borough to meet the challenges of e-Government. We are currently formulating plans to meet the challenges of e-Government and are confident that the citizens of Southwark will see a positive change in the delivery of services.

ITNET plans to work closely with Southwark on a comprehensive framework for e-Government to enable it to meet its targets for the Modernising Government Agenda. It will aim to promote a joined up approach amongst the Borough’s departments enabling its services to become more citizen focused and will allow easier access to information and all Government services.
