ITJ STAFFED BY KDD – REASON FOR C & W’S OPPOSITION TO MERGER BETWEEN IDC AND ITJ

By CBR Staff Writer

Seems that a key reason why Cable & Wireless is so vociferously opposed to the idea that its IDC consortium should be merged with the rival ITJ outfit in the battle to compete in international telecommunications with Kokusai Denshin Denwa is that the International Telecom Japan consortium is cosily staffed with time-servers from KDD, which makes its status as a soi-disant rival to KDD a bit of a joke; as Cables has been declaring to anyone who’ll listen, oil and water do not mix.
