ISTEL BACKS REFUGEES FROM HORIZON IN TANDEM VENTURE

Istel Ltd, Redditch, Worcestershire is to be the controlling shareholder in a new firm, Transaction Design Ltd, formed by Horizon Holidays computer staff who don’t want to relocate to London following merger with Thomson. The new company is to specialise in the development of high-performance turnkey transaction processing systems on NonStops from Tandem Computers Inc. It will major on travel, leisure, retail, finance and manufacturing systems.
