ISS Group Inc, the parent company of Internet Security Systems Inc yesterday said that it has acquired privately held Netrex Secure Solutions, a provider of remote security monitoring services. Under the terms of the agreement, approximately 2.45 million shares of ISS stock will be issued for all the outstanding stock of Netrex.

Netrex’s family of ePatrol security products will form the foundation for ISS’ new eServices business unit, charged with capturing the expanding market for managed security services, the company said. Analysts expect the market to increase to $1.3bn by 2002. ePatrol provides remote management of the industry’s leading security products – firewalls, VPNs, anti-virus software and URL filtering products – from the likes of Check Point, ISS, Security Dynamics and Trend Micro.

ISS said the addition of ePatrol would enable it to provide end- to-end, round the clock, security management alongside its existing SAFEsuite security management platform. รก
